A living resource finder for families involved in Washington dependency cases.

The project organizes practical help by need and location, explains how to ask for it, and keeps a visible record of when the information was checked.

Search by need

A parent can look for diapers, food, transportation, treatment, housing, or another specific kind of help.

When local help is scarce, the guide can show nearby programs that serve residents from another county.

One shared source will support the live website and county guides that can be printed and handed to a family.

County lines should not hide useful help. Each guide will begin with local resources and include nearby options when they accept residents from the county being searched.

Keeping it useful

Research first. Verification follows.

We do not need to wait for a large volunteer team before beginning. The first database can be built from available sources, then strengthened as people help review, verify, correct, and expand it.

    Collect potential resources from official and dependable sources.

    Check the program, service area, eligibility, and information families need before calling.

    Verify

    Confirm important details with the provider or its current official materials.

    Publish

    Show the resource with its verification date and return it for review as information ages.

Work completed

The project has a foundation.

The first project package includes a charter, master implementation plan, and research and verification manual. The product repository also contains the starting data model, import tools, and review workflow.

That groundwork lets research begin now and gives future partners something concrete to review, improve, and help carry forward.
